Young drivers who have car insurance policies with Aston Midshires are being warned that the online company is being investigated for selling invalid insurance policies.
Aston Midshires targeted young motorists in particular, offering cheap deals on insurance policies. However drivers with these policies found that when they were pulled over by the police their insurance was not legitimate.
David Bull, head of Leicestershire County Council's Trading Standards service, said: "Trading Standards has worked with Leicestershire Police to stop consumers being conned into buying invalid and illegal motor vehicle insurance from this business." Motorists who have bought insurance cover from Aston Midshires are being advised not to get behind the wheel until they have checked that their insurance is valid.
There are far reaching consequences for drivers who have invalid policies with Aston Midshires as they are not covered should they have a car accident in their vehicle, but also there will be repercussion for other drivers if they are unlucky to be involved in an accident with a driver who doesn’t have valid insurance.
