Carrentals.co.uk, the online car hire comparison site has joined forces with road safety charity Brake to launch its latest ‘Road Sense’ campaign.
Road Sense aims to make drivers aware of safe winter road use and offers advice such as getting car brakes and tyres inspected on a regular basis and even more so as the winter weather settles in. While the campaign acknowledges that finances are tight for many people, the checks remain absolutely essential.
Gareth Robinson, Managing Director of Carrentals.co.uk, said: "Road Sense is all about driving awareness around careless driving and accident prevention in the UK. We want people to know the ways that they can make accidents more avoidable through things like having car brakes and tyres inspected regularly by an approved specialist."
According to Brake, car accidents are the leading cause of death for UK young people today, with driving too fast and poor overtaking skills cited as the main causes. In the UK, one in eight motorists is aged under 25 while 25 per cent of fatal and major accidents include one of that age range.
