Older motorists in Bridport, Dorset, are to be offered essential road safety advice from the Highways Agency .
The agency will hold a drop-in event on Wednesday 31 March at Bridport Arts Centre, in partnership with Dorset Road Safe, to provide tips on driving safely on Englands motorways and other trunk roads.
Attendees will be shown a DVD from the groups new driver information programme called Careful! Considerate! Correct!, which is aimed at reminding older drivers of how to stay safe on the road.
Road safety and driver training specialists from both the Highways Agency and Dorset Road Safe will be present to provide help and advice to motorists, as well as discussing all aspects of driving on todays roads, including information on local driving refresher courses and refresher training .
Representatives from the emergency services will also be on hand to offer advice and answer any questions.
Alexis Wood, event organiser for the Highways Agency, said: "The roads and motorways have changed significantly over the past 50 years and it is important that drivers are equipped with an up to date knowledge and understanding of todays roads."
"This event is a useful way to get drivers up to speed on these latest developments and to help them to stay safe on the roads."
