Students from North Yorkshire are being urged to get creative to help develop a new radio-based road safety awareness campaign.
The 95 Alive York and North Yorkshire Road Safety Partnership has launched competitions for 11 to 16 year-olds and college and university students to develop a range of new radio advertisements, aimed at raising awareness of important road safety issues.
The task for school age entrants is to produce a 30 second script and advert, which covers one of the following key messages in-car distraction, seat belts, drink and drugs, speeding and safe driving .
Four entrants will be shortlisted and will be given the chance to work with the advertising production team at Teeside radio station TFM, to create their advert. The winning commercial will be chosen by TFM listeners.
For college and university students, the task is the actual production of a 20, 30 or 40 second radio advert. The winning entry will be aired on radio throughout 2010 to coincide with 95 Alives road safety campaigns.
