Birmingham is one of the UKs car accident hotspots, with one in five drivers involved in a collision on the citys roads, according to new research.
A study by motor insurance company More Than Car Insurance found that Broad Street in the city centre, Soho Road and the Aston Expressway are among the top five streets in the Midlands region where drivers are likely to be involved in a crash .
The study, titled What makes British drivers blood boil, revealed that the Midlands is a prime location for car collisions, with a fifth of drivers having damaged their car in the region.
According to the survey, three out of four motorists (75 per cent) are being driven to distraction by a lack of parking, infuriating one-way systems and traffic-clogging congestion.
In addition, more than two-thirds of drivers hate driving in their home towns, with one in ten having suffered a crash near to their home.
The More Than findings also revealed that men are more likely to have a collision than women drivers .
Pete Markey, from More Than, said: "Taking a little time out to research even the simplest of journeys can save a great deal of angst behind the wheel."
